Erie offers award-winning 24/7 Claims Service. A catastrophe or accident can occur any time, any place with little or no warning. When disaster strikes, our team of experienced adjusters and appraisers will be available to assist you with your claim, or they will report to the site as quickly as possible to inspect the damage and settle the claim. Remember that no matter how large or small the loss, we need to know about it right away. To file a claim, choose one of these options:

  1. Contact our office during business hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30AM-5PM)
  2. File your claim online at www.erieinsurance.com
  3. Call the After Hours Claims Service at (800) 367-3743 during weekends and 5:30PM. to 8AM on weekdays
  4. File an auto glass claims by calling ERIEGlass at (800) 552-ERIE, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. (Damage to a vehicle, except for glass, should be reported to your agent or local Erie Insurance office.)
  5. If you’ve been a victim of identity theft and you have ERIE’s Identity Recovery Coverage, call 1-866-ERIENOW to file a claim.

Tips for Handling Your Claim
Getting back on your feet after an accident or a weather-related disaster depends on timely, accurate reporting and good communication. Here are three tips to help you with the claims process:

1. Provide more than one phone number where you can be reached.
If you have to vacate your home or the phone service is out of order, be sure to provide an alternate number. After a car accident, supply both your daytime and evening telephone numbers.

2. Conduct a thorough examination of your property and/or vehicle.
Take notes and share that information with your agent or claims handler to help them quickly assess the damage.

3. For auto claims, review the Erie Insurance brochure “What to do in an Auto Accident”, which will help you identify the necessary information that your agent or claims handler will need. Keep the brochure in your vehicle’s glove compartment.
